I've never cooked on stainless. Will my food stick?
Only when the pan is cold, and that is the whole trick. Preheat on medium for 2 to 3 minutes, flick a drop of water in: when it beads and rolls like mercury, add oil and the food. Let proteins sit until they release on their own before you turn them; if it pulls, it is not ready. Most first-time stainless cooks have it down within a week, and the 45-day trial gives you plenty of runway. Our 60-second stainless guide walks you through it.
Is the 5-piece the right set for my kitchen?
It is the starter set for one or two people, apartments and small stoves: an 8" frying pan for eggs and single portions, a 9.5" frying pan with lid for searing and weeknight dinners, and a 3-qt saucepan with lid for grains, sauces and small batches of pasta. Need a stock pot and sauté pan for family meals? Step up to the 7-piece.
Is it really 5-ply all the way up the sides, and what is it made of?
Yes. Five bonded layers, stainless outside and aluminum in the core, run through the base and the walls of every piece, so heat spreads evenly instead of pooling over the burner. The cooking surface is uncoated 18/10 stainless steel, made without PFAS, PTFE or PFOA. The independent lab report is published on this page.
Does it work on induction, in the oven and in the dishwasher?
All three. Every piece works on gas, electric and induction, goes in the oven to 500°F / 260°C, and is dishwasher safe. Metal utensils are fine. Hand washing keeps the polish longer, but it is not required.
