Yes, Alva has been around since 1949, in Belgium. Alva and its sister cookware brands have been among the most popular in Europe over the past 70-plus years.Â
However, Alva is new to the US market (as of 2023), and is only now building its customer base in the US.Â
Thankfully, the team at Alva has decades of experience designing and crafting cookware for its international customer base to bring to consumers in the United States.
Alva has a mix of manufacturing centers located in China and Belgium. It is important to note that all production centers adhere to rigorous production standards, regardless of location.Â
Belgium is the "hub" for business for Alva, and where most of the employees for Alva are located.Â
In Belgium, engineering and design teams concept products. Then, those blueprints and designs are sent to various production facilities.Â
While production may take place across the globe, the mind and artistic eye for the products is very much in Belgium.
As of right now, Alva has a small staff in the United States, and orders will not be able to be reversed / canceled after placing.Â
As the customer support team grows in the US, this policy may be subject to change.
This should not be an issue with the way that Alva manages inventory. In the rare event that this happens, please contact care@alvacookware.com and the Alva team will follow up regarding the issue.
With so many great cookware products to choose from, it can get a little overwhelming.Â
Alva understands it has several products to choose from, so it has helped sort the products by type, material, and line.Â
If a customer has an idea of "type" of product they are looking for, filtering by type and material is the best way to identify the best product for their needs.
It depends on the Alva product in question. To find an answer, customers should refer to the product pages where they will see icons that indicate whether the product is or isn't dishwasher safe.
It depends on the Alva cookware. Some products, like the Forest line of products, come pre-seasoned (with a mineral oil), and do not require additional oils or sprays. Other products, like the stainless steel collection, do not come with any seasoning or coating.Â
The best thing to do is identify the material (aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel), see the product page for information, and find out if the product has any type of pre-seasoning or coating on it.
Seasoning is recommended for certain products, like the Alva Nori cast iron collection. Other products, like in the Forest collection, come pre-seasoned (with mineral oil) and are ready to cook with immediately.
Yes, all Alva products are free of PTFE, PFOA, PFAS, lead, and cadmium, including ceramic-coated products.
Yes, Alva products have varying warranties of 5, 10, and 15 years, depending on the product line. Customers can refer to the shipping and returns policy for more information about the details of the warranty.
Generally, Alva products are suitable for electric, gas, induction, and ceramic heat sources. Some Alva products are oven-safe and some are not.Â
Please refer to the product page to confirm heat source compatibility for your product.
While it is Alva's intention to create a self-service return system, for now, please email care@alvacookware.com with the subject line, "Return."Â
Please keep in mind, Alva will only accept returns for product exchanges and store credit for up to 45 days after purchase.Â
Please see the shipping and returns policy page for more information on this topic.
In the unfortunate case that an order arrives damaged, please immediately take a picture of the damaged product and email a short account of what is wrong with the product to care@alvacookware.com.
The support team at Alva will then begin to process a return order.
