Our Place Always Pan Alternatives (2026): 6 Options Compared
The best Always Pan alternative depends on what you want to fix. For the same kind of deep ceramic nonstick pan with more room and a longer warranty, Alva's Ceramic Nonstick Sauté Pan (3.5-Qt) holds about a third more than the Always Pan and is covered for 10 years against Our Place's 3. If you want a dishwasher-safe pan, GreenPan and HexClad both say theirs are; if you never want to replace a coated pan again, go uncoated 5-ply stainless.
The Always Pan earned its popularity honestly: it's a deep, lidded ceramic pan that covers most weeknight cooking, and Our Place says the 2.0 version is made without PFAS. This isn't a takedown. But it's a 2.6-quart pan with a hand-wash-only coating and a three-year warranty, and those are the usual reasons people look elsewhere. We make two of the pans below (Alva), and we'll be straight about their trade-offs too. Choosing between Our Place and Caraway specifically? See our head-to-head, Caraway vs Our Place.
What the Always Pan 2.0 actually is
Per Our Place's product page, the Ceramic Nonstick Always Pan is a 10.5" pan with a 2.6-quart capacity, a cast aluminum body, a stainless steel base and Thermakind ceramic nonstick. It comes with a steam-release lid, a steamer basket that doubles as a colander, and a nesting beechwood spatula. It's in the mid-range price tier, oven-safe to 450°F, hand wash only, and has a 3-year limited warranty. Our Place's FAQ says every Our Place pan is induction-compatible. That's the benchmark each alternative has to beat.

How to read it: capacity tells you how much fits. The Always Pan's 2.6 quarts suits one to three people; 3.5 quarts and up is family-sized. For a coated pan, the warranty column is the most useful number here: the coating is the part that wears out, so how long a brand covers it signals how long it expects the surface to last. Where a brand covers the coating and the body differently, we list both.
Specs checked on each maker's US site in September 2026. Prices change often, so check the maker's site for current pricing. The GreenPan pan was listed as out of stock when checked. Where a maker doesn't state a spec, we've written "not stated."
Our pick
Ceramic Nonstick Sauté Pan, 3.5-Qt
A deep, do-everything ceramic pan with more capacity than the Always Pan and a 10-year limited warranty. Made without PFAS, PTFE or PFOA, induction-ready, oven-safe to 400°F. The honest trade-off: that 400°F oven limit is the lowest in this comparison.

1. Alva Ceramic Nonstick Sauté Pan, 3.5-Qt: best for a longer warranty and more room
3.5 qt · 10-year warranty · 400°F · induction
The closest like-for-like swap: a wide, high-sided ceramic pan for one-pan dinners, sautéing, braising and shallow frying. It holds about a third more than the Always Pan, and the Maestro Ceramic warranty runs ten years against three. The forged aluminum body has a stainless steel induction base, and the sol-gel coating is made without PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, lead and cadmium, with the TÜV Rheinland PFAS reports published on our Testing & Materials page. Shop the Ceramic Nonstick Sauté Pan, 3.5-Qt. Free U.S. shipping over $99.
The honest trade-off: 400°F is the lowest oven rating here, 50°F below the Always Pan, and it's hand wash only. There's no steamer basket or spatula in the listing. Need more room? The 4-quart ceramic sauté pan has the same warranty and oven limit.
2. Caraway Sauté Pan: best for a bigger pan and a hotter oven
Premium price tier · 4.5 qt · 1-year warranty · 550°F · induction
At 12 inches across and 4.5 quarts, Caraway's ceramic Sauté Pan is the widest coated pan here and suits family-size batches better than the Always Pan. Caraway rates it oven-safe to 550°F and compatible with gas, electric and induction. Some finishes are priced higher than the standard colors.
The honest trade-off: Caraway's warranty page gives a one-year period, the shortest here, and Caraway says its ceramic pans shouldn't go in the dishwasher. Weighing a full Caraway set instead? See our Caraway alternatives guide.
3. GreenPan Valencia Pro 4.5-Qt Sauté Pan: best if you want the dishwasher
Premium price tier · 4.5 qt · 2-year coating warranty · 600°F · induction
If "hand wash only" is your frustration, this is the smooth-ceramic swap. GreenPan lists it as dishwasher safe (hand washing recommended), oven-safe to 600°F with the lid rated to 425°F, and induction-ready. It's 11 inches across with a hard-anodized aluminum body.
The honest trade-off: the product page mentions a "limited lifetime warranty," but GreenPan's warranty terms limit Thermolon coating coverage to two years; lifetime applies to other defects. It was also out of stock when we checked.
4. Made In CeramiClad 2.0 Sauté Pan: best ceramic on a stainless body
Premium price tier · 3.5 qt · 2-year warranty · 550°F · induction
Made In puts a three-layer ceramic coating over its 5-ply stainless clad body, so you get the weight and even heating of clad stainless under a nonstick surface. It's 10.5 inches across, made in Italy, and made without PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, lead and cadmium, according to Made In.
The honest trade-off: it's one of the pricier coated pans here, it's hand wash only, and its two-year warranty is shorter than the Always Pan's three.
5. HexClad Hybrid Deep Sauté Pan, 3.3-Qt: best for metal utensils
Premium price tier · 3.3 qt · lifetime warranty (defects) · 900°F (lid 400°F) · induction
HexClad pairs raised stainless steel hexagons with ceramic nonstick in the valleys, a coating it now calls TerraBond and describes as free from PTFE and forever chemicals. HexClad says the pan is metal utensil–safe, dishwasher-safe and oven-safe to 900°F, and covers it with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.
The honest trade-off: HexClad's care guidance calls for seasoning the pan and using lower heat than with other pans, and its warranty excludes damage from excessive heat and misuse, so "lifetime" doesn't guarantee the nonstick forever.
6. Uncoated 5-ply stainless: best if you're done replacing nonstick
Every coated pan above, the Always Pan included, will eventually wear. A stainless sauté pan does the same searing, braising and one-pan work indefinitely; it just won't release eggs without technique.
- Made In Stainless Clad Saute Pan, 3.5 QT, premium price tier. 5-ply, made in Italy, lid included, oven-safe to 800°F, lifetime warranty, hand wash preferred.
- Alva 5-Ply Stainless Sauté Pan with Lid, 4-Qt. Fully clad, 11 inches, oven-safe to 500°F, induction-ready, dishwasher safe, lifetime warranty. See the 4-Qt stainless sauté pan.
The honest trade-off: neither is nonstick, and stainless is heavier: Alva's 4-quart pan is 6.2 lbs against the Always Pan's 3.9 lbs with lid. Our best sauté pan guide compares stainless and nonstick in this shape.
Where the Always Pan still wins
- Price. In the mid-range price tier, it's the cheapest pan in the table.
- The kit. The steamer basket and nesting spatula are real value if you use them.
- Weight. 3.9 lbs with the lid, per Our Place.
- Oven headroom over Alva's ceramic. 450°F versus 400°F.
How to choose
- Same pan, covered longer: Alva's 3.5-Qt ceramic sauté pan (10 years).
- Cooking for four or more: Caraway or GreenPan at 4.5 quarts, or Alva's 4-quart pans.
- Dishwasher: GreenPan, HexClad, or Alva's 5-ply stainless.
- Hot oven or broiler: GreenPan (600°F), HexClad (900°F) or stainless (500–800°F).
- Tired of coatings wearing out: 5-ply stainless. See how long ceramic pans last.
How we chose these pans
We didn't run a new cook-off for this guide. We picked deep, one-pan-meal pans from the brands shoppers most often compare with the Always Pan, then took every spec from each maker's own US product and warranty pages. Where a product page and the warranty terms disagreed, we report the warranty terms.
Where Alva isn't the right choice: if you need a coated pan above 400°F, want to put a nonstick pan in the dishwasher, or bought the Always Pan for its steamer and spatula, another pan above will suit you better. And ceramic nonstick, ours included, wears with heat and use; a longer warranty doesn't change that, it just means the maker stands behind it longer.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good alternative to the Our Place Always Pan?
It depends what you want to change. For the same kind of deep ceramic nonstick pan with more capacity and a longer warranty, Alva's Ceramic Nonstick Sauté Pan (3.5-Qt) is covered for 10 years against the Always Pan's 3. For a bigger pan and a hotter oven, Caraway's 4.5-quart Sauté Pan goes to 550°F. For dishwasher use, GreenPan's Valencia Pro and HexClad's hybrid pans are listed as dishwasher-safe. To stop replacing coated pans, choose 5-ply stainless.
Is there a dishwasher-safe Always Pan alternative?
Yes. GreenPan lists its Valencia Pro 4.5-quart sauté pan as dishwasher safe (with hand washing recommended), and HexClad says its hybrid deep sauté pans are dishwasher-safe. Alva's 5-ply stainless sauté pan is also dishwasher safe. The Always Pan, Caraway, Made In CeramiClad and Alva's ceramic pans should all be washed by hand.
Which Always Pan alternative has the longest warranty?
Among smooth ceramic nonstick pans, Alva's Maestro Ceramic line at 10 years, compared with 3 years for the Always Pan, 2 years for Made In CeramiClad and GreenPan's coating, and 1 year for Caraway. HexClad offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects, but it excludes damage from excessive heat and misuse. Uncoated stainless pans from Alva and Made In carry lifetime warranties because there's no coating to wear out.
Is the Always Pan oven safe?
Yes. Our Place says the ceramic Always Pan 2.0 is oven-safe up to 450°F. The alternatives in this guide range from 400°F (Alva ceramic) to 550°F (Caraway, Made In CeramiClad), 600°F (GreenPan Valencia Pro), and up to 800–900°F for stainless and HexClad pans — though HexClad's glass lid is rated to 400°F.
What size Always Pan alternative should I buy?
The standard Always Pan holds 2.6 quarts, which suits one to three people. If you regularly cook for four or more, or make one-pan meals with lots of vegetables, a 3.5- to 4.5-quart sauté pan gives you room to brown without crowding. Alva's ceramic sauté pans come in 3.5 and 4 quarts; Caraway and GreenPan's are 4.5 quarts.
The bottom line
The Always Pan is a good pan that Our Place says is made without PFAS; the case for an alternative is about capacity, warranty, oven limits and dishwasher use, not safety. For the same kind of ceramic pan with more room and ten years of coverage, start with the Alva Ceramic Nonstick Sauté Pan, 3.5-Qt. To stop replacing coated pans, go 5-ply stainless. Every Alva lab report is on our testing & transparency page.
