Non-toxic is easy to claim and hard to prove. At Alva, our coated ranges are tested by an independent third-party laboratory - here is exactly what that means.

What we test for

• PFAS and PFOA - the forever chemicals found in conventional nonstick.
• PTFE - the classic nonstick polymer.
• Lead and cadmium - heavy metals that can hide in glazes and coatings. Documented for our Neat line against U.S. FDA food-contact limits; reports for other lines are available on request.

How we test

We use an independent third-party lab - TÜV Rheinland - not in-house claims, so the results stand on their own. The 638-substance PFAS panel covers our coated nonstick ranges, with every substance below the laboratory reporting limit. Our stainless, cast iron, and carbon steel ranges have no nonstick coating - so no PFAS or PTFE by design.
