Everything You Need to Know
Questions before you cook?
Short, honest answers to the questions that decide whether this is the right cookware for your kitchen.
What makes a pancake pan different from a frying pan?
A low-profile edge — your spatula slides under pancakes, crêpes, eggs and quesadillas instead of fighting the wall of the pan, and the wide flat surface browns evenly edge to edge.
Are Alva pancake pans nonstick?
Yes — ceramic nonstick with no PTFE, PFOA or PFAS, independently verified by TÜV Rheinland. Reports are on our Testing & Materials page.
Do pancake pans work on induction?
Yes — they work on gas, electric, ceramic and induction cooktops. Check each product page for oven ratings, as some are designed for stovetop use only.
How do I keep crêpes from sticking?
Medium heat, a thin film of butter or oil, and a ceramic surface in good condition — hand wash and skip metal utensils. See our care guide.
What warranty comes with a pancake pan?
All cookware warranties are limited to manufacturing defects under normal household use. Stainless steel, Artist/Black Angus carbon steel and enameled cast iron have limited lifetime coverage; Maestro ceramic nonstick and Forest carbon steel have limited 10-year coverage; Energy, Mobi and Neat ceramic nonstick have limited 5-year coverage. Normal wear, gradual loss of nonstick performance, misuse and accidental damage are excluded. View coverage and exclusions.
