Where Alva Began.

Alva was founded in 1949 by Albert Vandaele in Belgium. From the beginning, the focus was simple: cookware that lasts. Using reclaimed materials and hands-on production methods, every piece was carefully finished. Pots that didn’t meet standards were melted down and made again — quality always came first.

Alva has always been a family business. That means decisions are made with the long term in mind — not seasons or sales cycles. We believe good cookware should be reliable, well thought out, and made to be used every day. Less replacement. More cooking. Fewer compromises. In 1980, Filip Delmulle becomes CEO of the company. His spouse, Veronique Vandaele, is the daughter of Albert Vandaele.

Expanding Alva’s legacy.

In 2022, Michael Dumelle and Albert Vandaele’s grandsons took on responsibility for Alva’s US distribution. With a shared focus on quality and long-term thinking, they helped expand the brand into the U.S. market — bringing Alva cookware to a new generation of home cooks, while staying true to the principles the company was built on.
