Vision to Reality: Our Founder's Journey

Step back in time to Belgium, 1949. In the aftermath of World War II, as Europe struggled to rebuild, Albert Vandaele discovered an opportunity amidst the chaos, giving birth to Alva. By repurposing discarded materials and equipment from the war, Albert crafted high-quality aluminum pots and pans, marking the inception of the Alva product line. His meticulous attention to detail was evident from the very first designs, ensuring that any pots and pans failing to meet his rigorous standards were promptly melted down and recast. The commitment to detail, product quality, and sustainability that Albert established continues to be a fundamental part of our company's operations today.

1949 — A Resourceful Beginning

Alva’s journey began in 1949, when its first aluminum pots and pans were crafted from repurposed World War II materials. What started as an act of ingenuity in post-war Europe became the foundation of a brand built on craftsmanship, resilience, and innovation.

1954 — Scaling with Ambition

In 1954, Alva received a landmark order for 25,000 whistling kettles. To meet this demand, the company invested in advanced manufacturing equipment and significantly expanded its production capabilities. This pivotal moment marked Alva’s transition from a small workshop to a growing industrial manufacturer.

1970 — Embracing Evolution

As culinary trends evolved and stainless steel emerged as the material of choice, aluminum cookware faced growing competition. Rather than resist change, Alva embraced it — introducing its first stainless steel collection and reinforcing its commitment to quality, performance, and timeless design.

1980 — A New Generation of Leadership

In 1980, Filip Delmulle assumed the role of CEO, ushering in a new chapter of family leadership. Together with his wife, Veronique Vandaele, daughter of founder Albert Vandaele, the second generation strengthened the company’s values while driving modernization and growth.

1983 — Resilience Forged in Fire

On March 29, 1983, a devastating fire nearly destroyed the Alva factory. Offices, machinery, warehouses, and inventory were lost overnight. Yet the spirit of the company could not be extinguished. Within three months, production resumed. New products once again left the factory floor — a defining moment that solidified Alva’s reputation for perseverance, unity, and unwavering determination .

1991 — The Birth of Allinox

After more than four decades of manufacturing excellence, Allinox was established in the early 1990s as the commercial arm of Alva. Based in Belgium, this family-owned enterprise oversees the production, stock management, and global distribution of premium cookware, bringing Belgian craftsmanship to kitchens around the world.

1996 — A Strategic Step East

Foundation of our joint venture factory in Xinxing, China, marking a major expansion of our manufacturing capabilities. By combining Belgian expertise with global scale, we strengthened our stainless steel and aluminum production and expanded our global reach.

2010 — Establishing Our Sourcing Hub in Hong Kong

After more than four decades of manufacturing excellence, Allinox was established in the early 1990s as the commercial arm of Alva. Based in Belgium, this family-owned enterprise oversees the production, stock management, and global distribution of premium cookware, bringing Belgian craftsmanship to kitchens around the world.

2022 — A New Era of Production

Our new joint venture factory in Xinxing, China, replaced the previous plant. With advanced automation, increased robotization, and solar panels across the roofs, it marks a major step toward efficient and more sustainable production.

2022 — Expanding Across Continents

In 2022, Michel Delmulle, grandson of Albert Vandaele, assumed responsibility for the brand’s distribution. Together with Sophie Declerck, he led the expansion into the United States, with offices located in St. Petersburg, Florida. This strategic step marked a new phase of international growth while staying true to the brand’s heritage.
