About Alva
Alva cookware is designed in Belgium and manufactured in facilities that meet our specifications for material quality, coating application, and quality control. Every production batch undergoes independent lab testing before it ships. We chose our manufacturing partners for their expertise in forged aluminum cookware and ceramic coating application—processes that require specialized equipment and precision. Our team maintains direct oversight of production standards.
Three things. First, genuine ceramic nonstick—not PTFE marketed as ceramic. Some brands use a PTFE base layer with a ceramic-look topcoat. Alva’s coating is ceramic, top to bottom, with zero fluoropolymers.
Second, we publish our testing. Over 24 independent lab analyses verify every claim we make about chemical safety. We don’t ask you to take our word for it.
Third, forged construction. Most cookware at our price point is stamped aluminum—pressed flat from a sheet. Alva pans are forged under high pressure, which creates denser metal, better heat distribution, and greater durability. It’s a more expensive process, but it’s why our cookware performs and lasts the way it does.

Shipping & Delivery
We currently ship to all 50 U.S. states and U.S. territories. We also ship to select international countries, including Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, and Australia — with more destinations coming soon.
Most orders ship within 24 business hours and arrive within 5–7 business days via standard shipping. Exact delivery estimates are shown at checkout based on your location. During peak periods (holiday season, product launches), processing may take an additional 1–2 business days. You’ll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.
Free standard shipping on all orders over $99 within the United States.
Yes. Once your order ships, you’ll receive an email with a tracking number and a direct link to monitor delivery progress. If your order has shipped but you haven’t received a tracking email, check your spam folder or contact us at care@alvacookware.com.
Returns & Warranty
We offer a 45-day return window from the date of delivery. If your cookware arrives damaged or doesn’t meet your expectations, contact us at care@alvacookware.com and we’ll arrange a return.
Alva cookware comes with a limited warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use. This includes warping, handle loosening, and coating defects that occur despite proper care.
The warranty does not cover damage from misuse—such as overheating, metal utensil scratching, or dishwasher wear—or normal cosmetic changes like minor discoloration. Check your specific product’s warranty terms on its product page for coverage duration.
Email care@alvacookware.com with your order number and a few photos showing the issue. Our team will review your claim within 2 business days and, if approved, arrange a replacement. We aim to make the process as straightforward as possible.
We process orders quickly, but if you need to make a change, contact us at care@alvacookware.com as soon as possible. If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we can usually accommodate cancellations or address changes. Once an order has shipped, it’ll need to go through our standard return process.
Materials & Safety
Yes. Every Alva product uses a genuine ceramic nonstick coating—not a PTFE-based coating marketed as “ceramic.” PTFE (the chemical behind traditional nonstick surfaces) belongs to the PFAS family. Our coating contains zero PTFE, zero PFOA, and zero PFAS compounds of any kind.
We back this up with independent lab testing. Each production batch is tested by accredited third-party laboratories, with over 24 individual chemical analyses completed to date. We test for the full spectrum of PFAS substances, not just the ones regulators have banned so far.
If you’ve seen other brands claim “PFAS-free” while still using PTFE-based coatings, that’s worth questioning. PTFE is, by chemical definition, a PFAS compound. Alva’s ceramic coating eliminates the entire chemical family.
Our coating is a sol-gel ceramic derived from inorganic minerals—primarily silicon dioxide (silica). It’s applied as a liquid solution, then cured at high temperatures to form a hard, glass-like nonstick surface. No fluoropolymers, no synthetic polymers, no plastic-based compounds.
This is the same technology used in industrial and aerospace applications where chemical resistance and thermal stability matter. Applied to cookware, it delivers reliable nonstick performance without the chemical trade-offs of PTFE coatings.
Ceramic nonstick coatings do not release toxic fumes at normal or elevated cooking temperatures. Unlike PTFE coatings—which can begin to decompose and release harmful gases above 400°F (204°C)—ceramic coatings remain chemically stable well beyond any temperature you’d reach on a home stovetop.
That said, we recommend cooking on low to medium heat for the best nonstick performance and coating longevity. High heat isn’t harmful to you, but it can gradually reduce the nonstick release over time.
Yes. All Alva products are independently tested and certified made without lead, cadmium, PFAS, PFOA, and PTFE. Our testing protocols cover the full range of heavy metals and chemical contaminants that health-conscious consumers are concerned about.
Care & Maintenance
Hand washing with warm water, a soft sponge, and mild dish soap is all you need. Most food residue slides off with minimal effort—that’s the point of a good nonstick surface.
For stuck-on food, soak the pan in warm soapy water for a few minutes before wiping clean. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, steel wool, or harsh chemical cleaners—they can damage the ceramic coating over time.
While some Alva products are technically dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing. Dishwasher detergents are abrasive by design, and repeated cycles will gradually wear down any nonstick coating. Hand washing takes 30 seconds and significantly extends the life of your pan.
Use wood, silicone, or nylon utensils. These materials are gentle on the surface and won’t leave scratches or marks. Avoid metal utensils, including stainless steel spatulas, whisks, and tongs.
Metal edges can scratch or chip the nonstick coating, even if the damage isn’t immediately visible. Small scratches accumulate over time and reduce nonstick performance.
Low to medium heat for everyday cooking. Ceramic nonstick coatings conduct heat more efficiently than you might expect—medium on your burner delivers what you’d normally get from medium-high with uncoated stainless steel.
High heat is safe but unnecessary for most tasks and can reduce the coating’s nonstick performance over time. For searing, medium-high is sufficient. Always preheat the pan for 1–2 minutes before adding oil or food.
With proper care—low to medium heat, hand washing, non-metal utensils—the ceramic nonstick coating on Alva cookware is built to perform for years. The forged aluminum construction and hard-anodized exterior are designed for daily use over the long term.
Nonstick performance is directly tied to how the cookware is treated. Follow the care guidelines above and your Alva pans will outperform and outlast pans that cost twice as much.
