It has a mineral oil coating for non-stick performance and excellent heat conductivity. Attached is a stay-cool Acacia Wood handle with natural antibacterial properties. Suitable for high temperature frying, searing, and operating on all heat sources.

Season, Care & Revival Instructions

Heat pan on medium heat, add oil of choice
When the pan begins to smoke rub out the oil with kitchen or paper towel.
Completely dry with a new paper towel
Revival: Repeat periodically or as needed

Cool before cleaning
Use mild cleaners and soft sponge
Throughly dry to prevent rust
Place the pan on the stove over low heat to evaporate any remaining moisture
Store in dry environment

Fill your pan half way with vinegar
Let sit for 30 minutes
Drain and scrub with steel wool until it looks new again
Dry thoroughly and repeat "season" steps

How do I clean my carbon frying pan pan?

Alva’s carbon steel frying pan is hand was only and not dishwasher safe. To properly clean, first try to wipe out the pan with a paper towel. If seasoned properly, that may be enough to do the trick. If that doesn’t work, you can add salt or oil (grapeseed, canola, vegetable) and then wipe down with a paper towel. The salt and oil will help to remove stubborn residue. The next step is to boil some water in the frying pan to help separate any residue from the pan. After boiling, for exceptionally stubborn foods, you can also use steel wool to remove mess.

Is the carbon steel frying pan nonstick?

Alva’s Forest carbon steel products are not considered “non-stick” in the way that the ceramic coated products are. When using a carbon steel frying pan, it is recommended that you use a neutral oil (vegetable oil, canola oil, grapeseed oil, sunflower oil, and corn oil) to coat the frying pan to create a nonstick surface.

Yes, all Alva Forest cookware has a 10 year warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty is intended to cover issues due to defective materials. This warranty does not apply to overheating, discoloration of the surface, and flaking of the coating. It does not apply to scratches caused by sharp metal objects, normal wear and tear, negligence, and improper or commercial use. Damage caused by heavy impact or dropping of the product, disassembly. Or use for something other than its intended purpose will not be considered.
