How do you clean a stainless steel saucepan?

The first thing to note about cleaning and maintaining your stainless steel saucepan with lid is that your stainless steel cookware is dishwasher safe. To properly maintain your cookware, washing your pans with warm soapy and water directly after use will make cleaning easier. In the event that more stubborn oils and foods are stuck to the surface, you can place scrub the pans more vigorously or use a wooden utensil to help clear away the residue. If residues are extremely resistant to cleaning, you may want to fill up the pan with water and heat so that residues will become looser on the cooking surface.

Is my stainless steel saucepan nonstick?

Stainless steel cookware is not “nonstick” like other ceramic coated products in the Alva catalog. As the Alva Maestro Saucepan does not have any type of pre-seasoning or coating, it is best to cook with oil or butter to grease the cooking surface. Using oil or butter and washing by hand or in the dishwasher will help prevent sticking.

Is my stainless steel saucepan oven-safe?

Yes, all Alva stainless steel cookware is oven-safe due to its construction and high melting point. It is not recommended that the stainless steel saucepan is placed in the oven at a temperature greater than 392 degrees fahrenheit.

Can you season a stainless steel saucepan?

Similar to cast iron cookware, stainless steel can be seasoned with oils to create a semi-nonstick surface. However, this temporary nonstick surface is not meant to be built up with time. Instead, oils on stainless steel cookware should be washed off immediately after use.

What is an induction base?

An induction base means there is actually a sandwiched layer of aluminum between two layers of stainless on the bottom of the saucepan. The aluminum base helps to improve the heat conductivity of the pan, so it heats faster and retains heat longer.

Is there a return policy or warranty on my purchase?

Yes, all Alva stainless steel cookware has a 25 year warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty is intended to cover issues due to defective materials. This warranty does not apply to overheating, discoloration of the surface, and flaking of the coating. It does not apply to scratches caused by sharp metal objects, normal wear and tear, negligence, and improper or commercial use. Damage caused by heavy impact or dropping of the product, disassembly. Or use for something other than its intended purpose will not be considered.
